Women in Business
I definitely got my drive and passion for entrepreneurship from my Father. He is an incredibly strong willed man that I admire for his business sense and work ethic. I've learned so much from him just by watching him in his business. He stands by his work and gives 110% to service his customers. He is an honest man that has the reputation he does because of his integrity. Integrity... That is the key to success in every area of life. Integrity is about being the same person, having the same core values of who you are no matter where you are.
Women of Integrity
Today women have more business opportunities than ever before. We are able to work in many different fields and grow a business for ourselves, right from our homes. Ladies, we want this world to take us serious as women of integrity, what is important in making that happen? We must respect ourselves and never degrade ourselves by using our sexuality, we must never allow anyone else to do that to us either and we must maintain our integrity. Once we have lowered ourselves to behaving inappropriately in our work environment, it's extremely difficult to regain that respect. As a business owner, I have learned how important it is to set boundaries with clients and colleagues. How you portray yourself as a woman will determine how others will treat you and does affect your success.
Paving Your Path for Success
As a business owner and salon owner in the industry of hair and fashion, I have come across many different types of personalities. It's not easy working with a lot of different personality types, you build individual relationships with each person, whether personal or business. As much as we would like to keep our distance and avoid drama, it's something we will always have to encounter at some point in time in the work place. How you choose to handle that is what is extremely vital to your business. It's very important to always stay professional under every circumstance. This can be very difficult at times since we are all emotional beings and our emotions are felt no matter how professional we are. Always look at the way you feel about things second to doing the right and most professional thing, because if you do that, in most cases you will walk away feeling secure and confident about your choices. Being able to conduct yourself in a professional manner in every situation at work goes back to integrity. You will build security and trust in your relationships with colleagues, clients and customers.
Checking your Baggage at the Door
Walking into work or a meeting when you are not in a good mood can affect your persona more than you realize! One of the most difficult things is leaving that baggage at the door. In business, your customers or clients want to feel important and like they're a priority. If you lay all your stresses on them or have an attitude because of the mood you're in, they will not feel important and will second guess if you can meet their needs and expectations as a customer. In some cases they may be so turned off, you won't be seeing them again. You always want your clients or customers to feel safe and secure with you, if you are allowing your moods to control you, they will lose confidence in you. In some cases, major life changes may need to be shared with your customers, clients or colleagues so they can understand if your work schedule is being affected by it. We are only human, and we all go through things at times in our lives that can shake us up and cause big changes to be made. The most important thing to remember is how you would want to be treated and to treat those around you that way. A smile goes a long way for people around you and for you, if you're going through a difficult time, just keeping your head up and smiling will automatically lift your spirit and make you, along with others feel better in any situation.
